Function as a Change Agent and Leader

"Function as change agents and leaders to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice" (Kalb, 2008, 217).

This is an example of how I was a change agent.  I researched current practice in regards to chest tube dressing changes.  I was able to determine that our current practice of only reinforcing dressings was not supported by the evidence.  I then wrote a policy that was in line with the current research and presented it to our hospitals policy committee.  It was approved and put into practice.
